
The District Chief Executive of Asene Manso Akroso District Eastern Region, Hon Eric Ahinakwa has advice people learning handiwork to put seriousness in their work.
The District Chief Executive speaking at in Akyem Manso stated that they are not just giving out equipment to the apprentice but they are investing in the future of the youth who are the future of the district and the nation as a whole.
Hon. Eric Ahinakwa noted that the introduction of the apprenticeship program by the president His Excellence John Dramani Mahama is a bold innetiative aimed at equipping the youth with employable skills fostering self reliance and thriving industrial growth.
He said the program is to mordinaize the way they approach Youth employment and skills development.
He assure others that this is the first face of program other faces will be following soon some other to benefit from it too.
Hon. Eric Ahinakwa said the skills is not only to make the beneficiaries employable but will also create jobs and constitute to the economic development of the district.
He said he is committed to the supporting of the youth and he is expecting the beneficiaries of the program to be good ambassadors of the district.
He invite all stakeholders to come together so that they can make the program a successful one.
The Eastern Regional Coordinator for the National Apprenticeship Program Mr. Emmanuel Asante said the program is just for a year so he advice the various Madam’s of the apprentice not to be sending the apprentice on an unnecessarily errands.
He encourage them to give them good training.
He also advice the apprentice to put up a good behavior whiles learning the trade.
He urged them to be very serious in the work they are learning.
The Gyaasehene of Akyem Manso Nana Kojo Amissah stated that this is the first time he is seeing something like this.
He commend the president for such innitiave and urged Madam’s not to hide anything from their apprentice.
In all 45 apprentice where hand over to their various Madam’s and their Master.
3000, where paid for each apprentice learning fashion design whiles 2,500 each where paid on behalf of those who will be learning hair dressing.
The apprentice will be paid Gh300 each at the end of every month for a Year.
