Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak chalked another milestone on Wednesday with the unveiling of the new Director of Football and First Team Coach, Kim Grant who was outdoored at a press conference at the Sun City Hotel Apartment at La.
The former Black Stars player with a lot of experience in England with West Bromwich and coaching clubs like Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs and Elmina Sharks was introduced by CEO of the Mark Nooman.
In his formal remarks, Nooman disclosed that Hearts are building a programme for successful excellence by engaging the best person for the job.
“Hearts will win with class, lose with dignity and never say die. Hearts is no ordinary club, we took our time to select the best man as our Head Coach he expressed.
Kim Grant said he is ready and prepared for the challenge looking forward to the successful future.
“I know about the rich history of Accra Hearts of Oak and will do my best to make it better. A lot of changes are coming as we path a new direction. There is so much negativity which must be turned to be positive. We hope to be successful on and off the pitch. Our philosophy and mental approach to games must be positive” he told the media and few supporters who were present.
Kim Grant who has a 3 year contract beginning on December 1, 2018 stressed that he wants challenges as he takes the right directions and decisions that will favour the club, and hopes to stay at Hearts for a long time.
Mark Nooman told the media that Hearts is the biggest club in Ghana and need a strong foundation and a new direction with a new coach who understands the terrain and has passion to succeed against all odds. He disclosed that Hearts are targeting mobilizing the supporters, domination of the local league and conquering Africa again.
Accra Hearts of Oak founded in 1911 has a new logo and enjoys very active following on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and sponsored by Goil.
Kim Grant is coming in as Former Technical Director at Elmina Sharks FC, Founder & Owner at Kim Grant International Football Academy, Owner & Founder at Takoradi Football Club, Former Head Coach (Football) at Saif Sporting Club, Former Technical Director/Sporting Director at Cape-Coast Ebusua Dwarfs FC, Former 1st Team European Elite Senior Scout at West Bromwich Albion, Former Head Coach (Football) at Woking Football Club.
Grant 46, played for Charlton Athletic, Millwall and Luton Town during his active days as a footballer. He boasts of 14 international appearances and one goal for Ghana.
He holds a UEFA A Pro coaching license, and will succeed interim coach Seth Hoffman.
