
The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr Samuel Ofoso Ampofo has predicted that historic victory awaits former President and flagbearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama come 2020 elections to set a record of being the first incumbent President to have lost power and recaptured it .
Mr Ofoso Ampofo made the statement at a Health Walk/Fundraising organized by Hon Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr, MP for Agona East in her constituency .
The walk started from Kwesikum through Duakwa and ended at Nsaban.
Mr Ofoso Ampofo said the NDC will need majority seats in Parliament to govern the country from 2021 if the party wins the election .
To this end, commended Hon Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr for working hard for her constituents.
He urged the constituents to stand solidly behind her in the 2020 election to come out victorious.
The National Organizer of the NDC, Mr Joshua Akamba, taking his turn accused the Electoral Commission of planning to rig next year’s election in favour of the NPP.
He, therefore, advised the party members to focus on making the various branches of the party very strong to ensure victory for the party.
Hon Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr for her part, thanked her constituents for their support and confidence in her and said victory is just around the corner for the NDC in 2020 .
The host MP, the dynamic woman who has gone into history as another fine female MP in Ghana, admonished party members to eschew disunity , stay focused and remain resolute until John Mahama and NDC emerged winners in 2020 elections.
She touched on the glaring hardship befalling Ghanaians of which the NPP themselves are victims.
She said the electorates have now realised the difference between the good leadership of the NDC under former President Mahama and the government of President Akuffo Addo which has brought economic hardship on the people .
