The Northern Regional Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Gushiegu Constituency, Hajia Shamima Sulemana Zongo has led party executives to carry out a blood donation exercise for the Gushiegu Municipal Hospital.
The blood donation which was touted as unprecedented in the history of the Constituency was held with the agenda of helping saving the lives of the people in the Constituency especially, pregnant women and children.
Speaking to Hajia Shamima Sulemana Zongo, the exercise was an initiative of the Gushegu Constituency NDC Youth Wing.
Accordoing to her the voluntary blood donations for the Gushegu Municipal Hospital was a response to the need of the hospital as far as stocking of the blood bank is concerned.
She called on other political parties and like-minded groups to follow their footsteps and donate to support the people in the area.
In attendance were the Parliament candidate for the area, Hon Yusif Malimali, Constituency Party Executives led by Chairman Alhaji Aminu Yakubu and party elders in the constituency.
At the end of the event, over 50 pints of blood was donated to support the hospital.
