“EASTER IS A PERIOD FOR THE REFLECTION OF THE DEATH OF CHRIST, NOT MERRY MAKING”

The Associate Area Head of the Swedru Baptist Association of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev. Daniel Mensah has admonished Christians to disassociate themselves from engaging in merry making during the period of Easter, but rather use the occasion to reflect on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary.

Speaking at this year’s Easter celebration at Agona Swedru on the theme: “The Benefits of the Resurrection”, Rev. Mensah condemned the situation where some Christians use the occasion as an opportunity to engage in social activities such as beach partying, which according to him, has no coronation with Easter.

He sressed that it is high time Christians begin to portray the true essence of Easter celebration to the world, rather than allowing themselves to swayed by the world.

The church also used the occasion to embark on community evangelism, as a means of winning souls to God.
