I am into freight, logistics, and transportation management in the USA and have a very good understanding of how such industries work. Such claims by a supposed Honorable politician do not only lack evidence but also undermine the integrity of a critical global medical lifeline. He must not derail Ghana’s reputation with such unfounded allegations.
AirMed Flight N823AM, a Raytheon Hawker 800XP, is a medically configured aircraft operated by AirMed International—one of the world’s foremost providers of air ambulance services. This aircraft is purpose-built for high-level aeromedical evacuations and long-range patient transfers, equipped with onboard intensive care units, specialized medical equipment, and operated by trained medical personnel.
In March 2025, N823AM conducted multiple missions, including stops in St. John’s (Canada), Gran Canaria (Spain), and Accra (Ghana). These routes align with standard protocols for long-distance medical flights and reflect AirMed’s growing partnerships with hospitals and humanitarian networks in Africa. Ghana, for example, has become a recognized hub for specialized care in West Africa, and Accra’s Kotoka International Airport is a frequent destination for medical transport services.
