The Presbyterian Church Youth organized its annual delegate congress.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s West Akim Presbytery Young Adult Fellowship has organized annual delegate conference at Akyem Asene in the Eastern Region, themed “Celebrating Our Heritage, Persisting in Mission”.

During the congress, new leaders were elected, and the Presbytery Chairperson, Reverend Raymond Baah Abekah, advised the youth to celebrate their heritage, persist in their mission, and serve their generation.

He encouraged them to preserve their legacy for future generations. Reverend Abekah cited the wisdom of Ecclesiastes, “there’s a time for everything,” and echoed the sentiments of Shakespeare, emphasizing that YAF members must play their part in fulfilling their mission.

The newly elected executives are:

1. Emmanuel Bofah – President
2. Beatrice Kwarko – Vice President
3. Felix Gyamfi Acheampong – Secretary
4. Augustine Anim – Assistant Secretary
5. Priscilla Quansah – Financial Secretary
6. Richard Abedi – Organizing Secretary

The newly elected President, Mr. Emmanuel Bofah, promised that his leadership, with God’s guidance, would work to restore the cherished Presbyterian discipline. He added that he would focus on empowering the YAF, encouraging entrepreneurship through agriculture, and collaborating with other Presbytery YAFs to achieve their goals.

The outgoing president, Catechist Charles Kankam, reflected on his tenure as West Akim Presbytery YAF President, stating that his era had brought high-spirited participation and made the fellowship attractive for members.

He also acknowledged the significant contributions of their predecessors, noting that they had done a lot to bring the Presbytery YAF to its current level.

In attendance was the National YAF President, Mr. Frank Yeboah, who graced the conference with his presence, accompanied by the National YAF Women Commissioner, Miss Priscilla Afriyie. Mr. Yeboah attributed the miraculous successes to God and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the West Akim Presbytery.

He reiterated his commitment to growing the fellowship worldwide to instill Presbyterian discipline in young people, aiming to restore the values of hard work and discipline that have historically characterized Presbyterian youth globally.

Miss Afriyie admonished members to always wear the fellowship-approved attire for uniformity, promoting a sense of unity and cohesion within the group.

Through this event, the group also raised funds to support projects under the Young Adult Fellowship in the Assin Akropong District. Members across the 12 districts that make up the West Akim Presbytery made significant contributions, enabling the completion of a long-awaited pavilion to benefit the Assin Akropong District.
