Abuakwa South MP Hosts School Pupils in Civic Engagement Drive

Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, has reaffirmed his commitment to education and leadership development by hosting pupils and teachers from Akim Asafo Presbyterian Basic School at Ghana’s Parliament.

The visit was part of a civic outreach programme aimed at nurturing informed and engaged future citizens. The students received a guided tour of the parliamentary chamber, observed real-time legislative proceedings, and participated in a dialogue session with the MP.

According to Dr. Agyemang, investing in civic education is critical to sustaining democracy and preparing the next generation of public-spirited leaders.

“Exposure to how Parliament functions helps demystify governance and empowers young people to see themselves as stakeholders in Ghana’s future,” he said.

The event also highlighted the broader role of Parliament beyond lawmaking—as a platform for inclusion, mentorship, and national development. Teachers accompanying the students expressed gratitude, describing the experience as both educational and inspiring.

This initiative forms part of Dr. Agyemang’s broader vision to bridge the gap between leadership and the youth in his constituency through education, mentorship, and access to national institutions.
