DCE warned people against littering the environment.

The District Chief Executive of Asene Manso Akroso District in the Eastern Region, Hon. Eric Ahinakwa, has advised Ghanaians to stop littering the environment.

Speaking to Oyerepa TV after a clean‑up exercise in the district, the DCE said that cleanliness is next to godliness and that, as Christmas approaches, it would be better to keep the environment clean so that everyone can enjoy a sickness‑free holiday.

He explained that preventing illness means ensuring we do not litter and that we keep our surroundings clean.

He added that the district will provide dustbins for waste disposal and that sanctions will be applied to those who continue to litter.

The Assemblyman for Atiaankama Nkwanta, Hon. Ibrahim Kuma, commended the DCE for his hard work in the district and announced that a task force will be formed to address sanitation issues in the electoral area.

He warned anyone who continues to throw rubbish indiscriminately to be careful, as the authorities will be coming after them.

The Chief of Atiankama Nkwanta, Nana Kweku Adu Amantem III, who also serves as the Adonten Hene of Atweaman, called on the government to help repair the road from Akyem Manso to Osenase, noting that it is a major route whose improvement would greatly boost the district’s growth.

He also requested a facelift for the local market, which has seen reduced patronage due to its current condition.

Additionally, he pleaded for the upgrade of the town’s clinic so that residents would not have to travel to Akyem Oda or Asamankese for healthcare.

He further asked the government to build a senior high school in the town and to provide other conveniences for the community.

Finally, he thanked the DCE for his ongoing work in the town and prayed that God bless him abundantly.
