The people of Gomoa Benso in the Central Region have called on its indigens living in the diaspora to contribute in cash and kind to support the construction of a 50-sitter water closet (WC) toilet facility in the town.
The call was made by the Secretary of the Planning Committee of this year’s Annual Akwambo Festival by the Chiefs and people of the town, Mr. Kweku Koomson Jnr. during the opening of the celebration on Monday which is on the theme ”Development through Culture”.
According to him, the project which is currently underway would help solve the problem of unavailability of public place of convenience facing the town.
Some of the programmes outlined for the celebration of the week-long festival include clean-up exercise, float, bonfire, indoor and outdoor games, display by the Asafo troupe, pouring of libation to pacify the shrine as well as grand durbar of Chiefs to be held on Sat.
