The Chairman of the West Akyem Presbytery, Rev. Raymond Baah Abeka, has urged the public to highlight the good work churches are doing for the nation instead of constantly posting negative stories about churches online.
Speaking to Oyerepa TV after the induction service for the District Minister of Asante Akyem Banka, Rev. Abeka noted that churches are undertaking great projects for the country, but these are rarely publicized.
“We fail to propagate the good works and rather focus on the negative stories, which we then post on the internet,” he said.
He encouraged all to promote the positive contributions of churches to national development rather than the negatives.
He further called for unity, stressing that “without coming together, we cannot achieve anything.
Let us build both the church and the nation together.”
The District Pastor for Asante Akyem Banka in the Asante Akyem District, Rev. Joseph Asemnor, said they will continue to build on the vision of the Presbyterian Church.
He explained that the church will support members to secure livelihoods, noting that “if people don’t have money, it becomes difficult for them to come to church.” He pledged to support the people in various ways to make life easier for them.
Rev. Asemnor promised to work with all stakeholders to build the church and advance the work of God.
“It is great to come together and work as a team,” he added.
