He said they would only hear that a contractor is on site, and many projects were abandoned in the bush without even paying the contractors.

He clarified that the project is not meant to replace the old market.

Considering the large number of people who trade at the Akroso market, the 24-hour ultra-modern facility is being built to complement the existing one.

He added that 40 lockable stores will also be constructed in the old market.

Hon. Ahinakwa urged towns that have not yet benefited from the “national cake” to be patient, assuring them that they will get their share soon.

Akroso Market is a major trading hub where people from many places come to do business.

The DCE urged the contractor to engage local artisans from Akyem Akroso in the construction of the facility.

The Chairman of the NDC Asene Akroso Manso Constituency, Mr. Kwame Elijah, appealed to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to construct the road from Akyem Oda to Agona Swedru.

He said he had traveled to many places and seen good roads, and he called on the president to address the situation.

The Queen of Akyem Akroso Nana Aboagyewaa Domena IV expressed her appreciation to the president for bringing the 24-hour economy market to their town.

She urged him to fulfill all the promises he made during his visit for the campaign.

She appealed to the president to upgrade the health center in Akyem Akroso to polyclinic status, to build the nursing college he promised, and to fix the road from Akyem Oda to Agona Swedru.

She also encouraged the president to allow the contractor to return to site and complete the road project.
