Zoomlion Ghana Limited has pledged its full support for the government’s National General Clean-Up Exercise, announcing the deployment of personnel, equipment and logistics to assist flood-affected communities across the country.
The company said it fully endorses President John Dramani Mahama’s declaration of Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, as National General Cleaning Days, describing the initiative as a timely response to the recent devastating floods.
In a statement issued by its Communications and Corporate Affairs Directorate, Zoomlion commended the President for what it described as bold leadership aimed at protecting public health, restoring environmental sanitation and preventing the outbreak of diseases in affected communities.
The company said it had activated its nationwide operational network following consultations with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, placing all its regional, district and municipal offices on standby to support Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) during the exercise.
As part of the intervention, Zoomlion will deploy sanitation personnel, waste collection trucks, compactors, skip containers and other heavy-duty equipment to facilitate clean-up operations in flood-hit areas. The company will also undertake the evacuation and safe disposal of waste and silt, desilt drains and waterways, clean roads, markets, lorry parks and public spaces, and disinfect affected communities to minimise the risk of disease outbreaks.
Beyond the two-day national exercise, Zoomlion assured the government that it would continue working with relevant authorities wherever necessary to help restore affected communities to safe and healthy conditions.
The company noted that the recent floods underscored the need for stronger collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, traditional authorities, civil society organisations and citizens in addressing sanitation challenges and preventing future disasters.
It therefore appealed to residents, businesses, community leaders and institutions to actively participate in the nationwide clean-up exercise, stressing that collective action was essential to building cleaner, healthier and more resilient communities.
Zoomlion reaffirmed its commitment to delivering sustainable environmental sanitation solutions in support of national development, urging Ghanaians to rally behind the campaign under the theme: **”Clean Ghana. Save Lives.”**
