Residents of the Birim Central Municipality in the Eastern Region have commended the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako, for the numerous clean-up exercises he has been organizing together with the youth in the municipality.
Since assuming office, Hon. Kusi Brako has organized several clean-up exercises aimed at ensuring that the municipality is clean and healthy for all residents.
According to the residents, the MCE has done a lot as far as sanitation is concerned since he took office, and they have seen a great improvement in cleanliness across Akyem Oda and its environs.
Speaking during one of the exercises, Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako noted that if we want to be healthy, we must keep our environment clean, and therefore he does not joke with sanitation.
*Saw-Mill Gutters Desilted*
As part of the exercise today, the MCE, together with the youth, desilted choked gutters at the Akyem Oda Saw-Mill area. The exercise has now allowed free flow of water and will help prevent flooding and other sanitation-related disasters in the area.
The exercise saw a massive turnout of young people who joined the MCE to clear heaps of refuse and silt from the drains.
Some residents who spoke to Oyerepa News expressed their joy and thanked the MCE for his commitment. They said Akyem Oda is now looking cleaner than before and appealed to him to sustain the exercise.
They also called on all residents to support the MCE by cleaning their surroundings and avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse into gutters.
Hon. Solomon Kusi Brako on his part, thanked the youth for their support and urged them to continue with the communal spirit, adding that his administration will continue to prioritize sanitation and environmental cleanliness in the Birim Central Municipality
