Krachi Nchumuru: MP Constructs KG Block To End Years of Learning Under Trees

Children in the Dindor community in the Krachi Nchumuru constituency of the Oti Region are set to enjoy a better learning environment following the construction of a kindergarten classroom block by their Member of Parliament, Honourable Solomon Kuyon, to address years of inadequate educational infrastructure.

For years, kindergarten pupils in the community have had to study under trees due to the lack of a suitable classroom, exposing them to harsh weather conditions and disrupting teaching and learning whenever it rains.

The situation has been a major concern for community members, who say the absence of a proper learning facility has made education difficult for the youngest children. During the rainy season, lessons are sometimes interrupted, forcing teachers and pupils to seek shelter or abandon classes.

However, the construction of the new kindergarten classroom block is expected to bring relief to the children, teachers and parents, providing a more comfortable and safer environment for early childhood education.

MP Prioritises Education Infrastructure

The Member of Parliament for Krachi Nchumuru, Honourable Solomon Kuyon, says the intervention forms part of his commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring that children in the constituency have access to quality education.

The construction of the facility is intended to address the longstanding challenges facing kindergarten pupils in Dindor, who have endured difficult learning conditions for years.

The MP has also outlined other interventions undertaken in the constituency to improve the welfare of residents, stressing the importance of development projects that respond to the needs of local communities.

The new classroom block is expected to provide pupils with a more conducive learning environment, reduce disruptions caused by bad weather and help strengthen the foundation of their education.

Residents Welcome New Classroom Block

Community members have expressed excitement over the construction of the facility, describing it as a major relief after years of concern about the conditions under which their children have been learning.

Some residents recalled how the children had to depend on trees for shade during lessons, leaving them exposed to the scorching sun and sudden rainfall.

They said the situation was particularly worrying whenever it rained, as the children sometimes had to stop learning and return home because there was no proper shelter.

The residents believe the new facility will improve teaching and learning, encourage regular school attendance and provide the children with a better opportunity to pursue their education.

They have welcomed the MP’s intervention and expressed hope that further attention will be given to other educational needs in the community.

A Step Towards Quality Education

The construction of the kindergarten classroom block at Dindor D/A Primary School highlights the importance of investing in basic education infrastructure, particularly in rural communities where inadequate facilities continue to affect teaching and learning.

Providing children with safe and suitable classrooms is essential to creating an environment where they can learn effectively and build a strong foundation for their future.

Although the new facility is expected to address the immediate challenge facing kindergarten pupils in Dindor, sustained investment in educational infrastructure and learning materials will remain important to improving education across the Krachi Nchumuru District.

For the children of Dindor, the new classroom block represents a welcome change from years of learning under trees and a step towards a more comfortable and supportive educational environment.
