The former Greater Accra Regional Minister and regent of Kpone Katamanso, Mr. Afotey Agbo(a.k.a Lion) has endorsed the proposed establishment of a modern Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET) Institute in Nungua by Top Kings Ltd, one of the leading Real Estate Developers in Ghana.
Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Top Kings Ltd(TPL) to present some food items and beverages to the Nungua Stool for the celebration of their Kplejoo festival, the former regional Minister lauded the CEO of Top Kings Mr. Kingsley Owusu-Achau for the donation and the proposed TVET institution saying; “I am not surprised at what he has done today and what he intends to do for the people of Nungua because I’ve known this man when I was a very young student and today I’ve come to meet him in my capacity as the regent of Katamanso.”
He said, “Top Kings is not the only businessman on our lands, there are so many other companies on our lands and therefore this gesture should send signals to them to follow suit in doing some of these things so that we’ll see them as good business people and good strangers on our lands.”
“Depending on how you live with us, we’ll treat you as such, if we have to treat you as a brother it will depend on who you are and how you deal with us,” he added.
The CEO of Top Kings Mr. Owusu-Achau who is also the Bank roller of Bechem United FC touching on the proposed TVET project indicated that the Top Kings and Nungua relationship has been a very good one and therefore he will like to leave an indelible mark on Nungua Land and hence his dream to actualized the technical and vocational training school for the benefit of the good people of Nungua.
He said, I’ve had this vision in the last 15years but it’s unfortunate the top hierarchy at the time didn’t see the vision and appreciate the need for technical and vocational training school then.
“Thankfully when I proposed this dream to Nungua Mantse Nii Odaifio Welensti III he didn’t hesitate to give me the nod and said it’s a laudable idea and that he was prepared to partner us,” he said.
Mr. Owusu-Achau stated that the Nungua Mantse has already given out a 10acre land at Borteyman to be used to build the training institute and went further to say that everything is place including all the necessary documentations and therefore work will start in earnest soon as sod is cut by end of July this year for commencement of the project.
