Akim Oda MP Hon William Agyepong Quattoo visit victims of natural disaster

The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda constituency Hon.William Agyapong Quaittoo has visits victims of Akyem Oda rainfall disaster.

The MP of Akyem Oda Constituency together with the Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipal Assembly, Deputy Nadmon Director Hon Nelson Ntiamoah and the NPP Akim Oda Chairman and their delegation pay a visit to victims who where affected by the recent rainfall related disasters in the Akyem Oda Old Town Zongo.

The disasters occurred as a result of heavy rains starting from the early parts of October.

The rainfall affected areas such as Islamic, Zongo and Birim so.

Hon.William Agyapong Quaittoo announced his plans to assist victims and the affected communities with several relief items ranging from blankets, mosquito nets, plastic buckets, cups, plates and basins, polymats, mattresses, water purification tablets, and so on.

The MP further talk about the use of low quality materials in the buildings.

He therefore advice the people to ensure there is adequate amount of cement in their building materials to make their houses stronger enough to withstand harsh weather conditions.

The Chief of Zongo expressed gratitude to government and the Hon.MP for the gesture done them.

“What happened to us is a natural disaster that no one anticipated. In times like this you sometimes just need the comfort of people. What the Member Of Parliament has done today is quite remarkable and I commend him”, the Chief recounted.

He continued, “a person who stands by you in times of difficulty is a good person and must be remembered in the future when he also comes to you for help.

We have noticed what government and the Member of Parliament have done and we shall remember them in due time”.
