President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated Efua Ghartey on her historic election as the first female President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).
In his message on Facebook dated September 13, the President hailed her remarkable achievement, describing it as a significant step forward for gender equality in the legal field.
Efua Ghartey, a highly experienced lawyer, was chosen by her peers to lead the Association, marking a historic first for women in the GBA’s leadership.
Her election has been widely celebrated, with many acknowledging her role in breaking barriers in what has traditionally been a male-dominated profession.
In a congratulatory message shared on social media, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in Ghartey’s leadership abilities and her capacity to guide the GBA to new heights. He noted that her victory is particularly meaningful as it coincides with the recent passage of the Affirmative Action Act, reinforcing the nation’s progress toward gender equality.
