The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda Constituency, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has launched an awards scheme dubbed ” Public Sector Awards” for the public sector workers in his constituency.
The main aim of the award scheme is to reward hard-working public sector workers who have distinguished themselves with all commitments to improve public service delivery in the various public institutions within the Akim Oda Constituency.
The awardees were norminated by their Heads of Departments in their own institutions for them to be awarded.
Speaking at the launch, the Member of Parliament stated that, since his inception as MP, He has been working closely with almost all the government institutions in the constituency.
He identified that most of the workers in the public sector institutions are not natives of Akim Oda and thus it is very necessary to reward them to serve as a motivation for them to serve the Akim Oda environs with an extraordinary and premium services.
He added that this maiden awards will not only motivate the awardees but also encourage their other colleagues to work harder to win next year’s prize.
He said next year the awards selection will be done by the Awards Scheme Committee but for this year it was the heads of the various institutions that norminated their hard working workers who deserves to be awarded.
He intimated that this exclusive awards will give recognition to the efforts of the awardees and many others.
Hon. Acquah, expressed that the award is so dear to his heart and acknowledged his working committee who proposed the idea and has since worked assiduously to make it materialized.
Hon. Alexander Akwasi who is affectionately called the “Game Changer” by his constituents has always been on point giving to his constituents and has almost fulfilled his thematic campaign promises within his first two years in office.
Recently, He donated food items to the elderly in his constituency. He again donated over GH100,000.00 to the rehabilitation of the Oda sports stadium. He has done so many developmental projects in several sectors such as education, health, agriculture etc.
He has donated half of his monthly salaries to support numerous traders and entrepreneurs in the constituency. His common funds are being shared among the 18 electoral areas to support projects of several kinds in the electoral areas.
These and many more are the core reasons why many of the constituents are calling for his second term. The people of Oda have advised that anyone who mistakenly come to contest him will see nothing but a gross disappointments.
