THE NEGLECT OF ODA GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL-A CALL FOR TRANSPARENCY AND ACTION.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) of Akyem Oda constituency is urging the government to renovate the Oda Government Hospital, citing the health and well-being of Akim Oda residents as a top priority.

According to them despite previous promises, the hospital remains in disrepair, failing to meet the community’s healthcare needs.

They alledge that recently, AYIPEY FOUNDATION, an NGO founded by an Akim Oda native, offered to renovate the children’s ward and provide essential medical equipment but was unexpectedly halted by Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Adwoa Agyeiwaa and Member of Parliament Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah.

The reason given was that the government would undertake the renovations, a promise made four years ago.

Concerns arise from Hon. Acquah’s potential conflict of interest, owning Community Hospital, a private facility competing with Oda Government Hospital.

They also allege that Community FM, a radio station operated by Hon. Acquah, frequently criticizes the government hospital, promoting his private facility.

The NDC demands transparency regarding stalled renovation projects and urges leaders to prioritize residents’ health, setting aside personal interests. They emphasize their commitment to ensuring quality healthcare access for all
