ASA Band – which belongs to Asamoah Gyan, captain of the senior national team, the Black Stars, has been selected to perform at the 43rd Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards Night, at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday, May 04, 2018.
ASA Band, one of the leading live bands in the country, would be performing at the theatre event, to be organised by SWAG in the 43-year history of the awards night alongside other high profile artist like Kwabena Kwabena.
The band known for their excellent performance in both local and international songs is expected to be the toast of patrons on the night.
The awards night, which is the oldest existing sports awards in the country, is expected to host over 800 guests which includes, sports officials, sports men and women, administrators and well-wishers to appreciate the sporting industry.
The band, unveiled by skipper Gyan, on December 29, 2015 specializes in recording original highlife, hiplife, gospel, lovers rock, reggae songs and afro-beats.
It has performed at numerous events like the Kojo Antwi Experience at Kempinski, the New Jam at West Hills Mall, the Gold Coast bar, the funeral of Ebony Reigns among others.
Some of the nominee for the night are Thomas Partey of Athletico Madrid, China based Richie Boakye Yiadom, Thomas Abbey, former Hearts of Oak skipper, Boxers Isaac Dogboe and Duke Micah and many others including officials and sponsors of sports in Ghana.
The SWAG awards has sponsors like MTN, Activa International Insurance, Goil, StarTimes and ATL.
