Political leaders and activists have been warned to desist from utterances that have the tendency of creating chaos in the country, especially at this time that the country is preparing to go to a major general elections in December.
The advice was giving by the General Overseer of the Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith Church, Snr. Pastor Justice Abban at Agona Asafo in the Central Region.
Speaking at the Church’s 83rd Camp Meeting on the theme: “Preaching the Lost, Reviving the Saved”, Pastor Abban bemoaned the situation where political activists have resorted to the use of the media as a platform to insinuate opposition parties with impunity, using harsh and undescribable words, without recourse to what those words can create in the country.
According to him, this negative development have given the youth the impetus to go to the extent of using the social media to attack and insults even people in high authority, even including traditional rulers and the Clergy in the name of politics and freedom of speech.
He warned that the trend, if not checked, could have dire consequences on the country’s future, as the youth are seeing that as a norm.
