The Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region Hon Victoria Adu has cut the sod for the construction of a three-unit ultramodern classroom block for Akim Oda Salvation Army Junior High School.
The building which will cost about 959,950.90 Ghana cedis is to be completed within six months and will have ancillary facilities which include headteachers office, staff common room, storeroom, toilet, and urinary.
The Municipal Chief Executive Hon Victoria Adu in an interview with the media stated that education is one of the priority of the President so as the way of improving education in the Municipality the President thought it wise to build a befitting classroom block for the school.
She added that the MP for Akim Oda Hon William Agyepong Quaitto has already built Kindergarten and Primary block for the school so she thought it is wise to build Junior High School block to to add up to the numerous project in the school.
Hon Victoria Adu also distributed thousand dual desk to schools in the Birim Central Municipality namely Akim Oda Salvation Army School,Akim Oda St.Anthony School, Akim Aboabo Presbyterian School, Akim Oda Old town Methodist School and El-Shade School
Receiving the desk Mr. Benjamin Cudjoe who received the desk on behalf of the Municipal Education director thank the Municipal Chief Executive for the kind gesture and promise her that they will make good use of the desk.
