Birim Central Municipal Election task force inuagurated

A Ten-member Municipal Election Security Taskforce, chaired by Chief Superintendent Nana Kumi Police Commander Birim Central Municipality, has been inaugurated at Birim Central Municipal Assembly to manage issues relating to the upcoming District Level, Referendum and the 2020 General elections.

The members are senior officers from the Police Service, Military Force, Fire Service, Immigration Service, Information Service Department,NCCE,NADMO, Health Director, Municipal Coordinator, Electorial Commission and the Bureau of National Investigations in the Birim Central Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipal Assembly Hon Victoria Adu speaking to Ghananews247.com started that the taskforce was to ensure that no individual or group of persons endangered the peace in Birim Central Municipality before, during and after the 2020 General Election.

She said it is the responsibility of the task force to maintain Peace and stability in the upcoming District Assembly ,Unite Committee and Refredom election schedule for 17, December 2019.

The chairman of the committee Chief Supt Nana Kumi said maintain peace in the Municipality is a shared responsibility so he urged everyone to contribute his or her quota to sustaining it.

According to him they will deal with any person who attempt to do anything contrary to the laws of the land pertaining to elections to serve as deterrent to others”.

Chief Supt. Nana Kumi assured the people that they are going to execute their task fairly without fear or favor.

He said they should have confidence in the team and support it with relevant information to aid in the discharge of duties.
