The Adehye Special Home for Children with Autism located at Gomoa Akropong in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region has appealed to benevolent organizations and individuals to support children of the Home by donating outdoor playing materials such as Bouncing Castle and Swing to aid them in their daily activities.
The founder and Caretaker of the Home, Mrs. Susan Larbi Kwarpong who made the appeal when Ghananews247.com visited the Home noted that children with Autism learn through socializing, and therefore the donation of outdoor playing materials will go a long way to help the children of the Home.
Located in a serene and conducive environment, Mrs. Larbi Kwarpong said the Home also need a bus that will help convey the children on excussions so as to be able to introduce them to the outside world.
She debunked the belief held by some that children born with autism are from river gods and therefore advised parents of children with condition not to abandon them, but rather send them to special Care Centers where they have expertise to handle such conditions.
