Charity Stars Happy With Eric Ayiah Move

 

Ghanaian second division club Charity Stars have confirmed the transfer of former Black Starlets captain Eric Ayiah to French giants AS Monaco.

The 18-year-old joins the former French Champions on a five-year deal after passing his medicals on Thursday.

The club posted on their website confirming the transfer stating,”Management of Charity Stars football club can now confirm that their player, Eric Ayiah, captain of the Black Starlets of Ghana who went to the just ended FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament in India has finally signed a Five (5) year contract with AS Monaco after medically proven fit’.

Ayiah was on the radar of several European clubs after his exploits in the Africa Junior Championship and the FIFA U-17 World Cup last year.

However, he settled on Monaco, who have the penchant of harnessing young football talents.

Chief Executive officer of Charity stars Samuel Owusu Amoah also confirmed the move and adds the player is with the club in preseason.

‘It has always been the topmost priority of a club that was formed on the principle of raising and nurturing talents, Ayiah like most of our boys had to wait for the best opportunity with a club that can help and groom young talents than money,’ he said.

‘The former U-17 captain has signed a five-year contract with AS Monaco after a successful medical and he is currently with team for their pre-season,’ he said.

The forward, who was named in the list of top 50 be st players under 18 last year, scored 4 goals at the Africa Junior Championship in Gabon to help Ghana finish second.

Ayiah then netted 3 goals at the FIFA World Cup in India, where Ghana reached the quarterfinals.
