The minister in charge of the Apostles’ Continuation Church in Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region, Pastor Francis Yeboah has debunked the assertion held by some that Christianity was brought to Africa by the Europeans to deceive and rob the people of their culture and identity so as to enslave them.
According to him, though that might have been a reason, the religion has helped shape the lifes of Africans who were hitherto consumed in idol worshipping. His claim follows recent comments by some, including even members of the Clergy that the introduction of the Bible and the Christian religion by the Europeans has done Africa more harm than good, as it was brought under the guise of love and forgiveness to deceive the people and enslaving them.
But Pastor Yeboah has admonished Christians not to allow this perception to discourage them in their faith, but rather continue to build their faith in worshipping God.
He described the claim as a scheme by the devil to sway believers from their faith so as to lose their inheritance in the kingdom of God.
