Churches Should Stop Condemning Tradition And Culture – Chief Advises.

The Mankrado of Agona Asafo in the Central Region, Nana Takyi Koko XI has advised Christians to desist from the habit of condemning the practice of tradition and culture, describing it as idol worshipping and fetish.

This condemnation, according to him, has been an old age habit by churches, since Christianity was introduced into the country by the Europeans.

According to Nana Takyi Koko, culture and tradition has been practiced since the creation of time, long before the introduction of Christianity, and varies from one group of people to another.

Speaking to Ghananews247 at the sidelines of this year’s Annual Akwambo Festival celebration of the Chiefs and people of the town, Nana Takyi Koko expressed dismay why only the Ghanaian Christian see the practice of tradition and culture as idol worshipping and has therefore challenged those so-called “holier than thou” Christians to check their roots to ascertain which of them does not come from a family where tradition and culture is not practiced.

He later called on the younger generation to embrace their tradition and culture, as that identifies them as a people with a unique identity.
