CILT-Ghana Launches Young Professionals Wing

The Youth Wing of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, CILT-Ghana has been launched with the objective of harnessing emerging skill-sets to ensure that, as professionals they remain effective and relevant in a changing world.

The Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon Titus Glover who commissioned the group said young professionals are the future of the Supply Chain and Logistics and Transport industry hence they must endeavor to work and network so as to allow younger members to engage fully with membership, access the experience of the entire CILT body and seek out advice from a wide array of perspectives.

In an interview with Nlaliban Wujangi, President of Yong Professionals of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, he said the group; Young Professionals exists to strengthen the appeal of CILT to young professionals working in the logistics and transport sectors.

“The aim is to engage the interest and involvement of young professionals by emphasising the benefits the CILT has to offer them and to create an environment that is meaningful and supportive of younger members keen to develop their careers,” he said.

Nlaliban Wujangi averred that the young professionals with CILT-Ghana will in the near future work assiduously and take over the institution and push it to higher heights.

Nlaliban Wujangi, a certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, became a Chattered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana in 2017 after he was inducted into the Institute as a chartered member.

Nlaliban Wujangi, before joining the CILT, has held several responsible positions and had working experience in the Logistics and Procurement sector, led in the implementation of Global Management Contracts in nine markets and has been a member and Secretary and Convener of the Young Professionals Group of the CILT Ghana.

He was a Ground Operations Supervisor at DHL-Ghana Limited, is a Consultant at Assured Reliability Technologies Ghana Limited, Regional Strategic Buyer, Services and Indirect Materials at Nestle Central and West Africa Limited from 2008 to 2011, and the Business Manager for Lainer Services Limited from 2011 to 2015.

Nlaliban Wujangi holds certificates in Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain Management from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Agribusiness Management from GIMPA and the Association of African Business Schools, Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Advanced International Diploma in Logistics and Transport at CILT Ghana, and IATA/FIATA Air Cargo Diploma and Station Management from the IATA Aviation Training and Development Institute, Canada.

President of CILT-Ghana, Ebo Hammond in a short message commended the group for taking the bold step to come together and work as professionals in the industry.

According to him, CILT-Ghana is ever ready to offer any assistance to the Young Professionals in their quest to achieve greatness and urged the veteran professionals to open up to young ones so as to make the logistics and transport industry more attractive to the youth.

“We must not just ask ourselves what we can teach our younger members, but what we can learn from them. Engagement with social media and other platforms, as well as technology in general is critical to anyone working within our industry.
