The Madina Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is embroiled in a deepening crisis, with confusion and tension reaching a boiling point. The Party Chairman has accused the Nasara Coordinator of plotting against him, a claim the latter vehemently denies.
The accusation comes on the heels of a brutal attack on the security detail of Madina’s NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Robert Lamptey, during the Oyarifa Homowo festival on September 7, 2024. The attack, which left a security officer with a severed thumb and a taxi driver with a fractured arm, has sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about escalating political tensions ahead of the general election.
According to a report by Daily Guide, the attack was carried out by a mob fueled by political animosity, and the thugs even attempted to storm the hospital where the victims were receiving treatment. The Madina Police are investigating the incident, but the community remains gripped by fear and uncertainty.
Nana Bini, a suspect arrested at the scene, has been in custody for several days, but the mastermind behind the mob attack remains at large, with blame now shifting to the Nasara Coordinator, who strongly denies any involvement.
