The Gomoa Ajumako Deputy District Minister of the African Faith Tabernacle Church, Rev Kofi Ngurumesi Esuon has debunked the perception held by majority of Ghanaians that cultural practices and pouring of libation is fetish.
Rather, he pointed out that the practice is a way of worshiping God long before the Bible was first introduced into the country by the Europeans.
He however described what is perceived by many as fetishism as spirituality, noting that such spirits protected the ancestors before the advent of the Europeans.
He therefore blamed the perception on the Europeans who he said hid behind the Bible and brain-washed Africans to abort their way of worshiping God and accept theirs, whiles they turn to trade in the natural resources of the continent and in humans as slaves.
According to him, the way of worshiping only becomes sinful when one fails to give adoration to God.
He also described witchcraft as a source of spirits which some people who possessed it have used it to protect their children, whiles others have used it to destroy family members, making the spirit good or bad, depending on how It is used by the person who possesses it.
He later admonished ministers of the gospel not to relent to accept to be enstooled as traditional rulers, as according to him, they can help change the perception.
