
The Programs Officer of Curious Minds Ghana, Miss Mavis Aryee, has advised teenagers in Akyem Manso and Akyem Asuboa in the Asene Manso Akroso District Eastern Region,to protect themselves against teenage pregnancy.
According to research, the Asene Manso Akroso District ranks fourth in the country for teenage pregnancy cases.
Miss Mavis Aryee speaking to Oyerepa TV in an interview noted that teenage pregnancy often leads to school dropouts, jeopardizing their future and making them a liability to their parents and society.
She encouraged the girls to seek professional advice from health officials on protection and urged them to abstain from sex to avoid unwanted pregnancies and diseases.
Hon. Antwi Boasiako, Assembly Member for Akyem Manso, advised the teenagers to focus on their education, emphasizing that free Senior High School (SHS) education is available.
He stressed that education is key to a better future and urged parents to prioritize their children’s future.
A health professional, Miss Eunice Nyabu, also advised the youth to take good care of themselves to avoid unwanted pregnancies and diseases.
