Mr. David Prah appealed passionately to the NPP Delegates to consider Dr. Adutwum’s exceptional leadership record, transformative achievements, and global perspective as they weigh their options for the party’s future.

“The New Patriotic Party has reached a turning point,” Mr. Prah declared. “And what we need now is not another career politician, but a man of competence, character, and performance. That man is Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum.”

A Visionary Leader with a Record of Results

Mr. Prah emphasized that Dr. Adutwum’s time at the Ministry of Education was marked by bold and practical reforms that impacted lives across the country. Under his stewardship, the education sector experienced a renewed focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), with several modern STEM-focused senior high schools constructed nationwide.

“Let’s look at what he did in just a few years,” Mr. Prah said. “He led the expansion of STEM education across the country. These schools are equipped with robotics, coding labs, and engineering workshops. It wasn’t politics—it was progress.”

Mr. Prah also pointed to the introduction of new curricula, teacher development programs, and significant infrastructure investments under Dr. Adutwum’s leadership.

“He brought energy and focus to a ministry that had become predictable,” he noted. “He introduced STEM boarding schools in underserved communities and rolled out free robotics and coding programs—things never seen before in our public schools.”

Global Experience, Local Commitment

According to Mr. Prah, Dr. Adutwum’s leadership is grounded not only in experience but also in world-class education and international exposure that few Ghanaian politicians possess. Before entering public service in Ghana, he founded and served as CEO of the New Designs Educational Group in California, USA—an institution that served thousands of students and employed hundreds of professionals.

“This is a man who built an education system in the U.S. from the ground up. He wasn’t just teaching—he was creating jobs and shaping future leaders,” Mr. Prah emphasized.

Dr. Adutwum holds a PhD in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Southern California (USC), a Master’s degree in Educational Management from the University of La Verne, and a Teaching Diploma from Chapman University, California. He is also an alumnus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

“He blends theory and practice. He’s a global thinker with a local heart,” Mr. Prah added.

“Adutwum’s Style Is Practical, Not Political”

Highlighting the former minister’s governance approach, Mr. Prah stressed that Dr. Adutwum was not the kind of leader to be boxed into Accra offices. Instead, he was known for unannounced school visits to monitor real-time classroom performance.

“This is a man who regularly visited schools unannounced just to check on teacher attendance and learning conditions,” Prah revealed. “He wasn’t writing reports—he was solving problems on the ground.”

Dr. Adutwum’s practical and result-oriented leadership, according to Mr. Prah, sets him apart in a political landscape that often prioritizes rhetoric over impact.

“His time as Education Minister showed us that transformational leadership is possible in Ghana. And if he could achieve so much in education, imagine what he could do for the entire country.”

A Track Record of Generosity and Vision

Beyond policy, Dr. Adutwum is recognized for his personal investments in education. According to Mr. Prah, he has single-handedly sponsored over 150 students from his Bosomtwe Constituency to pursue engineering and medicine across various universities in Ghana.

“He didn’t wait for a government program. He used his own resources to educate future doctors and engineers. That’s visionary leadership—investing in human capital directly.”

He Speaks the Language of Development—Not Division

Mr. Prah noted that in a time when many politicians resort to populism and divisive rhetoric, Dr. Adutwum remains focused on solutions and nation-building.

“He doesn’t attack opponents or engage in tribal politics. He speaks the language of growth, schools, innovation, and youth empowerment. That’s the kind of message Ghanaians are longing to hear.”

He Has Global Recognition and Influence

Dr. Adutwum’s expertise and credibility have earned him international recognition. He is currently the Chairman of the Ghana Commission for UNESCO and a member of the UN High-Level Advisory Group for Mission 4.7, which supports the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Education).

He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Capacity Building Centre at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and is the Patron of the Africa Curriculum Association (ACA).

“He’s not just respected in Ghana—he’s respected globally,” Mr. Prah emphasized. “And yet, he remains rooted in Jachie, working for his people.”

Call to Action: “He Has My Vote—And He Deserves Yours Too”

Mr. Prah concluded the interview with a passionate appeal to party members and delegates to support Dr. Adutwum’s bid for leadership.

“He has my vote. He has my loyalty. And I encourage every polling station executive, every electoral area coordinator, and every grassroots member to begin mobilizing for this man,” he said.

“Yaw Osei Adutwum is not just the right candidate for the NPP. He is the right leader for Ghana.”

As the New Patriotic Party begins to chart its path toward future elections, Mr. David Prah’s early endorsement highlights a growing movement within the party calling for transformational leadership. With Dr. Adutwum’s impeccable credentials, international respect, and grassroots dedication, his name is quickly emerging as one to watch.
