
In a poignant message released by the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei-Avatey, the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council is mourning the loss of eight distinguished individuals, including the Minister of Defence, Dr. Omane Boamah, in a tragic helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025, at Adansi Akrofoum in the Ashanti Region.
Expressing profound sorrow, Hon. Adjei-Avatey conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Council to the families and the broader community impacted by this sudden and tragic event.
“The tragic and painful death of the eight has deeply shaken me personally as the Regional Minister, because I was at the launch of their very programme,” she stated, highlighting the significance of their roles in the community.
Dr. Omane Boamah was remembered not only as a committed public servant but also as a shining example of leadership and vision for the Eastern Region.
“We have been robbed of one of our finest—a man whose life was marked by service, sacrifice, and unshakable love for his country and his people,” Hon. Adjei-Avatey reflected.
