The people of Gomoa Ekwamkrom in the Central Region are celebrating this year’s Annual Akwambo Festival of the town with the aim of bringing indigenes of the, both home and abroad together to contribute to the construction of a new Junior High School block for the only Basic school of the town constructed by the Methodist Church decades ago.
The 3-Unit story-building new facility is estimated to cost about GH 360,000.00.
According to the Secretary of the festival’s Planning Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Akomprah who briefed the media, the construction of the new school block has become necessary as a result of the increasing growing population of the school.
He disclosed that already, the project has begun through levies from the people.
The festival was on the theme ‘’Mobilizing Gomoa Ekwamkrom Community for Development.’’
