Factionalism & Parochial interest must be devoid-Dagbon Regent

At a joyous celebration when the indigence of Dagbon singing and drumming to fully welcome the long awaiting newly ensking regent of Dagbon, Bolin-Lana Mahamadu Abdulai has advised elders of Dagbon to eschew factionalism and parochial interest for the benefit of the traditional area.

According to him Dagbon need a common vision to thrive, thus that residents should show patriotism. “We have one Dagbon and need a common vision to thrive as a people. Let’s show the world that we are the true sons and daughters of Naa-Gbewaa”.

He said the absence of peace has denied Dagbon so many development opportunities, including thousands of investments and projects.

The regent, further urged the media to be responsive in their reportage, and abreast themselves with the customs and traditions of Dagbon.
I wish to extend my gratitude to the chiefs and regents of Dagbon, both Abudus and andani, for gracing the occasion of my installation as Regent. This show the funeral of his majesty, the late Yaa-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai who ruled our kingdom from 1969 to 1974, is one to be performed by the entire Dagbon and not the Abudu royal family alone. I give you a pat on your backs for a true show of solidarity. I believe this is also why thousands of the teaming crowd, within and without Dagbon, all wanted to catch a glimpse of me in my traditional costume.

I wish to extend my profound gratitude to the president of the Republic of Ghana, who I’m told is out of the country and couldn’t make it to the occasion.

Similar gratitude should be extended to the former presidents, His excellence president JJ Rawlings, president John Agyeikum Kuffuor, pressident John Evans Atta Mills and president John Dramani Mahama, who have one way or the other took great involvement in our search for lasting peace and unity of the people of Dagbon.
