
The GA Tunma Ayi We Royal Dynasty has joined the nation in mourning the tragic loss of eight lives in Wednesday’s military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region, describing the event as a national calamity.
In a solemn statement issued on Thursday, Dzasetse Nii Ayi Ana Konteh I, Head of the GA Tunma Ayi We Royal Dynasty throne family, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with the entire nation during this difficult time.
“We share in the pain of this devastating loss and extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the departed. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and with the Government of Ghana,” Nii Ayi Ana Konteh I stated.
The Dzasetse acknowledged the distinguished service of the fallen officials, which included two cabinet ministers — Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation — as well as senior security and party officials.
He urged all Ghanaians to unite in grief and honour the memory of the deceased by upholding the values of patriotism and service they embodied.
“This tragedy is not only a loss for their families or political parties, but for all Ghanaians. Let us continue to pray for strength, unity, and peace as we navigate this sorrowful chapter,” he added.
National mourning continues across the country, with flags flying at half-mast as preparations begin for official funerals. Investigations into the cause of the crash are currently underway.
