GHANA FLYING DISC FEDERATION CALLS ON GOVERNMENT AND CORPORATE GHANA FOR SUPPORT

Vice president of Ghana Flying Disc Federation, Mr Peter Asiedua has drawn the attention of the Government and Corporate Ghana to assist the federation to be effective and vibrant in the world of sports.

Ghana Flying Disc Federation has been in existence for the past Five years . Speaking on the Legend Sports Show at Atinka FM, Mr Asiedua was very passionate about the development of the federation.

The vice president hinted on sponsorship deals with the government and other corporate entity.

He suggested that with the support of the government the federation becomes attractive for other companies to sponsor them in their activities. He pleaded to the companies who comes and like to come on board for sponsorship their negotiation terms should be flexible to comply with. He added that most of the companies terms and conditions are very difficult to abide with.

“The federation visited a company for sponsorship and I don’t want to mention their name, their terms was a hard nut to crack and their expectations in return was beyond our strength” he said.Mr Peter Asiedu again recounted how the executives have fund the Federation with their own money for the past three years, he described this as very pathetic not encouraging for the nation and the federation.

Moreover, Ghana Flying Disc Federation made Ghanaians aware that the federation have so many tournament invitation from Europe to contest in competitions but because they have no support, they turned down some of the offers and invitations. “We need to compete in European tournaments so that the federation will get the exposure and growth” he mentioned.

The federation again calls on the newly appointed National Sports Authority boss, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, to assist them when their concerns are brought before him. He concluded on their upcoming competition called “Adult Championship” which involves only adults. The purpose of this tournament is to release stress and keep fit. “We need to be healthy and have time for leisure activities and promote our health” he added.
