GPHA Mourns Helicopter Crash Victims, Flies Flags at Half-Mast

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has joined the nation in mourning the eight individuals who lost their lives in the tragic military helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, including two Ministers of State.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the Authority expressed profound sorrow over the national tragedy and extended its solidarity to the Presidency, the bereaved ministries, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the affected families.

“The Port Authority stands in solemn solidarity with the Presidency, the affected Ministries, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the bereaved families as the country comes to terms with this painful tragedy,” the statement read.

In honour of the victims’ devoted service to Ghana, GPHA announced that all its installations across the country will fly the national flag at half-mast.

“May their souls rest in perfect peace and may their families be comforted — today and always,” the statement concluded.

The crash, which occurred during an official mission, claimed the lives of high-ranking government and military officials, plunging the nation into mourning. National flags are flying at half-mast, and a period of mourning has been declared.
