GYANWA FOUNDATION HOLDS MAIDEN GRADUATION

An all female educational institute, Gyanwa Foundation Educational Complex located at Gomoa Afransi in the Gomoa Central District in the Central Region has held its maiden graduation ceremony with a call on parents to give equal attention to the education of their girl-child as their male counterparts.

The founder and proprietress of the Foundation, Mrs. Vida Odoom who gave the advice in an address during the ceremony said women have proven to be a force to reckon in all fields of endeavor, and as such it is time to give the girl-child equal opportunity as boys in the field of education.

According to her, the period where girls are perceived to belong to the kitchen is past, and has therefore challenged society to do away with that old mentality.

Established in 2013 with only two girls, the school now has over one hundred and fifty students.

According to Ms. Odoom, her vision of establishing the Foundation is not only to promote girl-child education, but also to provide girls of school-going age in the area quality and accessible education.
