The President of Winneba Is King Movement and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NYCE 90.7 FM, James Kofi Annan said he never wrote a letter apologizing to Afenyo-Markin, asking him for forgiveness for forming the Winneba is King movement and for making insensitive comments about him in the airwaves.
A letter circulating in the media, purporting to have been written by James Kofi Annan suggested that he (James) is remorseful of his conduct against Afenyo-Markin for which he rendered an apology.
Meanwhile James Kofi Annan in a letter denied ever writing such an apology letter to Afenyo-Markin and stated that everything in the letter, including the letterhead used, “is fake.”
He has however given those who wrote the said fake letter up to the close of Monday, July 22, 2019, to retract the said letter in its entirety, and to apologize to him (James) .
He also indicated that he remains committed to the cause of Winneba Is King movement, and “until the last ballot is counted, and declared, and signed, I remain committed to the liberation agenda.”
Meanwhile, NYCE 90.7FM whose Letterheard the purported letter was written, has also issued a statement denying the said letter.
According to it General Manager, Bismark Odum Sackey the said letter is fake, adding that it has no date and the NYCE FM Logo that was on the letter was wrong.
He also pointed out that all the social media handles that were quoted on the said letter are all wrong.
“Dr. James Kofi Annan does not write personal letters using official letterheads,” he pointed out.
It would be recalled that not too long ago, similar concocted letter emerged and it was alleged to have been written by the Winneba Zongo Chief, Chief Sulemana Salaga IV.
It turned out that the said letter was to smear the hard earned reputation of the Chief.
That agenda hit rocks when the Chief came out to deny writing such letter and obviously exposing those behind it.
