The former NDC Member of Parliament for the Gomoa Central Constituency, Rachel Nana Adwoa Appoh has hinted that she intends to step aside in the 2O2O general elections to allow others to test the waters.
She said her decision is to allow the electorates compare between her and the new candidate.
The former MP made this revelation in an interview with Ghananews247.com during the National Delegates Congress to elect presidential candidate for the 2O2O general elections.
She hinted that though she she had initial plans of contest the elections, she later decided to rescind the decision because of some petty squabbles in the party in the Constituency.
But despite her decision, some party faithfuls are still calling for her come back, describing her as a far better Member of Parliament than the current NPP MP, Mrs. Naana Eyiah Quansah
Meanwhile, the Constituency Treasurer of the NDC, Mr. Ernest Mensah has warned that the party will not sit down aloof and watch any vigilante group from any political party to attempt to cause mayhem during the up-coming general elections.
He pointed out that any attempt by any person or group of people to that effect would be met by the full force of the NDC.
In a related development, the founder and leader of the High Praise Prayer Min. in Agona Swedru, Prophet Bohyeba Odoom has warned the various political parties to disband all their vigilante groups before the 2O2O general elections to ensure peaceful electioneering atmosphere during the period.
Commenting on the caution by the Gomoa Central NDC Treasurer, Prophet Bohyeba Odoom stressed that any attempt by any political to match its opponents ”boot for boot” because of perceived electoral malpractice could spell doom for the country.
He later advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used by any politician or political party for their parochial interest.
