Ghanaians have expressed great fear and concern, following incidents of kidnapping and in the country in recent times, after what became known as the 3 T’adi Girls which attracted a lot of attention, both in and outside the country.
Apart from those heinous, unfortunate incidents, the country has witnessed a lot of other similar incidents where people have been reported missing without trace, or bodies found with vital parts removed.
The situation has attracted calls from all quarters, calling on the country’s security services to intensify security of the nation, both internally and externally.
The latest to add their voice to the call are the founder of the Overcomers Royal Sanctuary {Armour of God Parish}, Apostle Joshua Kobina Darko Spokwell and the Agona Swedru branch minister of the Damascus Christian Church Int. Apostle Paul Gyasi Acheampong.
According to them, the security situation in the country is gradually getting out of hand, as most of these heinous acts are found to be carried out by aliens
However, they stressed that the solution to the problem should not lie with the security services alone, but on Ghanaian, by serving as a watchman over one another, and not hesitate to report suspicious characters to the relevant authorities.
According Apostle Spokwell and Paul Gyasi Acheampong, the Church also has a vital role to play, by educating their congregation on who to associate with, to avoid the incident falling victim to these kidnappers.
They called for stiffer punishment to people caught to be engaged in such heinous acts, to serve as deterrent to others.
They later warned members of the public, especially ladies who make friends on social media with people that they do not know to deist from the practice, as they can fall victim to the people who engage in these crimes
Though the police are mandated to provide internal security in the country, Apostle Paul Gyasi Acheampong on his part has advocated for the involvement of the military in the provision of such mandate, as according to him, their presence will stop the activities of such criminals.
Both members of the Clergy later called for speedy provision of the National Identification Card to help identify indigenes from aliens.
