Involve Private Schools In Free SHS System – Principal

A social worker and educationist, Mr. Bernard Bagao Bananxi has called for the inclusion of private Senior High Schools in the enrolment of students under the current Free SHS policy.

According to him, this will help solve the problem of lack of infrastructure such as classroom and dormitories that has created the Double Track system.

Mr. Bernard Bananxi who is the Principal of the Junior Boys Correctional Center and the National Vocational Training Center at Agona Swedru in the Central Region suggested that Government could liase with the private schools to charge students who enroll there a reduced amount, whiles the government absorbs the rest, to help reduced the burden on public senior high schools and also put an end to the double track system where students have to go through academic shifts.

He also expressed regrets why Technical and Vocational Institutes have been excluded from the Free SHS system.
