Ghana’s Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe will face Cesar Juarez for the WBO World super bantamweight belt on November 11th, 2017.
WBO champion Jesse Magdaleno was originally scheduled to defend his belt against Juarez on the aforementioned date but he has pulled out after he picked an injury at training.
With the latest development Juarez will face the next available contender which is Marlon Tapales who is ranked number 2.
Sources have disclosed that Tapales would not be ready for the fight, meaning the next available ranked boxer is Dogboe who is ranked number 3.
It is now up to Dogboe’s team to accept whether to fight Juarez or not.
Meanwhile, Richard Commey, has moved to 4th in the lightweight division in the latest International Boxing Federation (IBF) rankings for the month of September.
Commey last month was ranked 5th, but now he has moved a place up.
The James-Town native last year fought for the IBF World lightweight belt but he lost via a disputed split decision to Robert Easter Jr.
Commey will be facing Russia’s Roman Andreev in an IBF eliminator in December. The winner will face IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr.
