It’s not easy fighting a tough champion in a cold Hong Kong weather – Jonathan Euro

Ghana’s new champion in Muay Thai Kickboxing, Jonathan Euro has disclosed that his fight against Zhang Yulong of China in Hong Kong was a very tough one as he had to battle the harsh cold weather and the tough champion.

He said he made a promise on Ghana Television before leaving that he was going to win in round two, and his game plan worked to perfection.

He said his strategy was to entertain the crowd in round one and go all out in round two.

He thanked his cornermen; Lawrence Nmai and Isaac Doku who guided him very very with good technical and tactical advise to ensure victory for Ghana.

Answering questions from the media, Jonathan Euro who represented Ghana last year as part of the Pro Fighting Factory team at the first African Muay Thai Championship in Morocco thanked Ghanaians for their support and prayers.

Die Hard Supporters Union led by Abraham Nkansah aka Apirigu Chakapama gave Euro a rousing welcome at the new Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport.

Former MP for Bantama, Hon. Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu who was at the airport commended Euro for his effort and exploits and wished him more success as he links the new champion from Ghana to president Akuffo Addo.

The lawyer noted that Ghanaians must celebrate Euro as a hero who has won to compensate the painful and sad loses of former WBO champion boxer Isaac Dogboe in the USA.

Sammy Heywood Okine, Vice President of the Pro Fighting Factory Gym in Accra said the victory of Euro is for all Ghanaians to enjoy a good Christmas, and hoped people would know about kickboxing and other combat competitions.

Meanwhile, arrangements are in the pipeline for Team Euro to meet the Minister for Youth & Sports and the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
