Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Hon. Joe Ghartey, has donated medical equipment to the Model Health Centre in Kojokrom.
The items donated on November 13, 2023, included delivery Beds
Delivery Sets, Episiotomy Set, Suture Set, two Screens
Three Drip Stands, Five Adult Weighing Maxhines, Sinks, Nebulisers, Two Accosin BP Apparatus, Digital BP Apparatus, Fridge
Air Conditions, Washing Machines, television Set and
Two Computers.
Receiving the items the Metro Director of Health, Dr Pius Mensah, expressed his gratitude to the Member of Parliament. He said after the completion of the facility he approached the MP for assistance to furnish the facility. He said he was happy that the promoised had been fulfilled. Dr Mensah said the facility will take care of the whole population of Kojokrom and its environs in addition he also said that, services such as delivery devices and minor surgical operations will be done in this Health Centre. It is envisaged thst the Kojokrom Model Health Centre with a staff strength of over twenty medical personnel would serve over 20,000 people.
On his part, Hon. Joe Ghartey said he was happy the facility had been completed and was ready for use. He recounted that a similar facility had been completed in Anoe. He also mentioned other health facilities in the Essikado Ketan Constituency such as the Diabene Chip compound and the Ahanta Abassa Chip Compound which was converted from a krall for cattle. He also said that in addition medical equipment had been supplied at various times to heath facilities in the Constituency.
Hon Joe Ghartey also stated that he was happy that as a Cabinet Mnister during the First Term of the Akufo Addo government he represented the Western Region properly and ensured that Western Region was also allocated a given a Regionsl Hospital when other Regions such as the Eastern Region were being considered for the construction of Regional Hospitals. Joe Ghartey also said he was instrumental and led the MP for Selondi, Hon Mercer, to ensure the reconstruction of the Effia Kwanta Hospital. He noted that the construction of the La Hospital was about to commence and was optimistic that soon attention would also be paid to the Shama Hospital.
In conclusion, Hon. Ghartey said that from the era of President Kufour who introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme to the era of President Akufo Addo which is seeing a massive expansion of health facilities the NPP had been faithful to Ghanaians in the health sector and he pleaded with Ghanaians to vote for NPP, its Presidential Candidate, Dr Bawumia and its Parliamentary Candidates to enable them continue the good work.
