
The Akyem Kotoku Akyempimhene, Nana Ntiful Kwagyan iii, who doubles as the chief of Akyem Awisa in the Birim South District Eastern Region, has urged Ghanaians to develop a habit of keeping their environment clean.
Speaking to the media after a clean-up exercise in Akyem Awisa, he emphasized that Ghana’s global reputation should be matched with a clean and well-maintained environment.
He called on everyone to come together to maintain a clean environment and encouraged chiefs and queen mothers to organize their people to clean their towns regularly.
Nana Ntiful Kwaigyan also appealed to the government to implement measures to curb the use of tramadol, red drugs, and other substances that are harming the youth.
He stressed that the youth are the future of the nation and expressed concern that parents are worried about the impact of these substances on their children.
He pleaded with the president to address the issue urgently, noting that it is a worrying situation that requires immediate attention.
The Assemblywoman for Akyem Awisa Hon. Regina Koomson commended the chiefs for their support and expressed her desire for continued collaboration on future projects. She prayed for ongoing partnership with the chiefs to develop the area.
