As part of activities to mark the Valentine Day celebration, the Agona Swedru District branch of the Musama Disco Christo Church and the Overcomers Royal Sanctuary last Wednesday Feb. 14 organized special programmes for married and would-be married couples on marriage and its proper place in life.
Speaking at the separate events, ministers in charge of the Swedru District of the Musama Disco Christo Church Rev. John Kwame Benyi-Eshun and the General Overseer of the Overcomers Royal Sanctuary Apostle Joshua Kobina Darko Spokwell advised that Valentine Day should be used to educate the people on cultural practices in relations to marriage, rather than promoting promiscuity.
They said though Valentine Day was meant to celebrate the life of someone who contributed to the welfare of the needy in society, people have misconstrued it to mean the celebration of lust, thereby losing the real essence of the celebration.
