Lydia Alhassan Joins Moms 4 Change On Medical Outreach In Dzorwulu

The Member of Parliament (MP) and NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West, Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has joined Moms 4 Change (M4C) a volunteer group to organize a Medical Outreach at Dzorwulu.

The MP, who was joined by Mrs. Mimi Darko, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Foods and Drugs Authority (FDA), in an interview, indicated that the exercise was carried out to complement government’s effort in the provision of healthcare for Ghanaians, especially people in her constituency.

The medical outreach is being organised to provide free medical services, including, tests on malaria, blood pressure, sugar level and eye test, among others.

Hundreds of people have benefited from the medical outreach organised by M4C as Medical experts gave talks on wellness, healthy living and cancer awareness.

According to MP, the outreach was in furtherance of the NGO’s humanitarian service with focus on taking care of the less privileged individuals, especially women.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan said: “Today, we have empowered over a hundred people with this outreach. The team you see also donated drugs. Doctors and Nurses are here checked participants’ sugar and blood levels, and malaria tests. Those that are with severe illnesses will be referred to the appropriate quarters.”

She encouraged residents to do regular exercise so as to prevent them from having diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke and kidney disease.

She also advised that, “Eating of fruits, vegetables, engaging in daily exercises and consultation of medical experts for medical check-up may prevent the body from diseases.”

The Leader of Moms 4 Change (M4C) in her remarks also indicated that the group has empowered over 5,000 youths and women, including widows since its establishment adding that, “We are specialised in empowering the less privileged widows and youths with financial assistance and vocational training. We know the plight of widows and what we can do for them is to elevate their standard of living,” she said.
She also told the participants to eat healthy and engage in regular exercise.

The event generally was refreshing as Doctors present attended to some of the cases personally and offered advice to those who had been screened.

The MP Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan expressed appreciation to Mrs. Mimi Darko, Ms. Shirley Koryoo Ablakwa, the medical team and all those who made the event successful.

In another development, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West, Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan Scenes continued her Door to Door Campaign in Dzorwulu with the good people receiving her and her team into their homes and workplace where she took the opportunity to interact and explained her achievements within two years and seek their votes in the coming elections to enable her do more for the Constituency.
